Leigh Sanchez has begun her junior year at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio where she is majoring in Theology and Business. She will also be heading to Austria to study in a monastery built in the 1300’s and operated by the Franciscan University.
When asked how OLGHS prepared Leigh for college here is what she had to say:
“Our Lady of Grace taught me to appreciate the importance of a Catholic education. It not only prepared me for college, but it prepared me for life. It was through the school that I realized the necessity of encompassing my faith into every aspect of my life. I strongly believe that without OLG I would not be who I am today. I am so thankful to my parents for choosing OLG and to the school for the beautiful opportunity it gave to me.”
Tyler Barmore is flying all over the place-literally!! He is in his second semester of his junior year at UT Arlington where he will major in Aerospace Engineering. He is also training for his private pilot certificate.
Class of 2007
Elizabeth Drybread has returned to University of Dallas as a sophomore this year. Spring of 2009 she will head to U.D’s campus in Rome.
When asked how OLGHS prepared Elizabeth for college here is what she had to say:
“I am very glad that I attended Our Lady of Grace High School. Of all the good things I can say about OLGHS I must say that I am most grateful for its supportive and sincerely Catholic atmosphere. During the four years I spent in high school I was very much into the process of trying to define my character and what I stood for. Though I am, of course, still a long way from being able to give a complete definition of myself I can safely say that my experience at OLGHS played a beneficial role in helping me to confirm the moral and academic standards by which I live today. Our Lady of Grace HS is a wonderful school. I am very grateful to have had the privilege of attending such a school.”
Kammy Doyle has transferred from UNT to also attend UT Arlington. She is hoping to enter the nursing program at the beginning of her junior year.
Samantha Donohue returned early to Ave Maria University, Naples, Florida to begin her sophomore year majoring in Theology and to continue her position as a student leader while assisting new freshmen with their orientation on campus. Samantha will be heading to Austria in the spring to study.
Katie Sayler has been attending Lexington College in Chicago. She made the Dean’s List and has the top GPA in her class.
When asked how OLGHS prepared Katie for college here is what she had to say:
“From the start of my college education until today, I have felt immense gratitude to Our Lady of Grace High School for the education I received during my four years there. In my theology and philosophy courses, I received a strong foundation in the truths of my Catholic faith and in logical reasoning. It helped me personally in my understainding of faith and reason, and now I can pass on to others what I learned. I am also extremely grateful for the strong language, reading, and writing training I received at OLG. All those tough papers and assignments I received in high school prepared me well for my college assignments. Now, I am confident in my ability to reason out and write papers and assignments with clarity and grammatical correctness. Finally, I would like to acknowledge the emphasis OLG education placed on good study habits, hard work, and dedication in all our duties. These concepts, along with the other Christian virtues encouraged at OLG, are also very important at my current school, Lexinton College. There I am continuing to learn my role as a young Christian woman in a fast-paced and egocentric world.”
